go soak your face

A dismissive phrase said to someone with whom the speaker is frustrated, annoyed, or exasperated. An uncommon variant of "go soak your head." A: "I'm a great driver!" B: "Oh yeah? And how many car accidents have you gotten into?" A: "Oh, go soak your face." I've had enough of your negativity. Why don't you go soak your face or something! Geez, that was a mean thing to say! Go soak your face, you jerk!

Sl. to drink heavily. They're down at the tavern soaking their faces. Well, I guess I'll go soak my face in a few beers.
