For as long as can be remembered; for an extremely long time. Often used for hyperbolic or humorous effect. Scientists believe these microorganisms have existed on Earth since the beginning of time. Since the beginning of time, man has searched for a way to be physically fit without having to do a minute of exercise.

As long as anyone can remember. This hyperbolic phrase, also put as from the beginning of time, dates from the 1600s. The Daily Telegraph had it on January 19, 1978: “Best of all is Mr. Ward’s pithy dismissal of the sort of supernatural pseudery that has enthralled the credulous since the beginning of time.” See also from time immemorial.
