put (something) on (one's) tab

To add a charge for some food or drink to one's bill so that one can pay for it later. A "tab" is an informal term for a bill or check, most often in a bar or restaurant. Hey, barkeep! Another whisky for my friend here, and put it on my tab! Mind if I put an order of nachos on your tab?
