Affluent; wealthy. "Bob" is a nickname for a shilling. Primarily heard in UK. A: "He's a shipping magnate—someone like that isn't short of a few bob." B: "I wouldn't be so sure. After all, he's been married and divorced six times." I'm not short of a few bob these days, so I am happy to loan you money to keep your business afloat.
