That does not exist. Sometimes followed by "as" and the thing that one is claiming does not exist. There have been a lot of rumors about an impending round layoffs, but let me be clear: there is no such animal. Although there is strong bipartisan support for the bill, everyone knows that there is no such animal as a sure thing when it comes to action in Congress.

The phrase appears to have originated in the caption to a cartoon in Life magazine in 1907 , in which someone is looking at a camel.
