never cross a bridge before you come to it

Do not worry or make a decision about something that has not happened yet. In an attempt to manage my anxiety, I try to never cross a bridge before I come to it. Getting worked up about the future isn't going to solve anything in the present! A: "What if I don't get the job?" B: "They haven't called you either way, so try not to panic. Never cross a bridge before you come to it."
