nail (one's) hide to the wall

To punish, berate, or hurt one in a very severe fashion for a wrongdoing or transgression. The media is going to nail our hides to the wall if this leaks to the public. The boss nailed my hide to the wall for messing up the Jacobson account. She said she was making it her personal mission to nail the hide of every drug dealer in the city to the wall during her time in office.
