move a mile a minute

1. To move extremely quickly. The wind filled the sails of the schooner, and it soon began moving a mile a minute across the cerulean sea.
2. To operate, proceed, or otherwise do something very rapidly. Their company has been moving a mile a minute in recent years, taking on new business and expanding at a phenomenal rate. Taylor's mouth moved a mile a minute as she told me all about her first day of school.
