make (something) worth (one's) while

To ensure that something is beneficial to one or not a waste of one's time. I was reluctant to do research at a different library, but the librarian totally made it worth my while by helping me find a ton of books on my topic! If you have to go, you might as well make the trip worth your while by spending a few extra days just relaxing.

(informal) pay somebody well for doing something for you: If you can work on Saturdays and Sundays, we’ll make it worth your while.
