live worlds apart

live worlds apart

1. To live in locations very far apart from one another. We lived worlds apart, with an entire ocean between us most of our lives. But a chance encounter in an airport lounge was enough to permanently entwine our lives.
2. To have lives that are very different in nature. The two strangers lived worlds apart—he, a street rat who survived by stealing, she, the daughter of the sultan who lived in luxury—and yet, from the moment they first met, they were drawn together as if by destiny.
