let's get the/this show on the road
Let's begin this activity, discussion, journey, etc., right now. OK, everyone, the last of our speakers has arrived. Let's get this show on the road! Come on, kids, let's get the show on the road! If we don't leave soon, it'll be dark before we reach Grandma's house.

let's get the/this show on the road
Let’s get going; stop delaying. Originally an Americanism from show business of about 1910, when companies presenting plays, vaudeville, and circuses toured all over the country, it came to be used more generally by 1940 or so. In Britain it rivals “Let’s get on with it,” a phrase popularized in a variety act of the 1930s and 1940s.
