leave over

1. To have some amount of food from a meal that remains uneaten. A noun or pronoun can be used between "leave" and "over." We were taught as kids not to leave food over, even if you felt full. I usually make enough food so that I can take whatever is left over for lunch to work the next day.
2. Stop it; knock it off. Used as an expression of exasperation, frustration, or annoyance. A: "Someone's in a testy mood today, eh Liam?" B: "Oh, leave over, Tom. Don't be a jerk."
