1. To not misbehave. You boys keep out of trouble! I don't want to hear about any foolishness. You've kept out of trouble all year, so I think you deserve a reward.
2. jocular To perform one's normal activities. A: "What have you been up to?" B: "Oh, just keeping out of trouble." I haven't seen you in so long! Been keeping out of trouble?
