In an ideal state or condition for speaking or singing. Oh yeah, back when I was still touring, I wouldn't talk for the whole day leading up to a concert to ensure that I was in voice when I took the stage. We all had high expectations, but the celebrated soprano simply was not in voice during last night's performance of the opera. I apologize, folks. I'm getting over a cold, so I'm not quite in voice yet.
