Under the direct control or influence of someone or some group, especially through illegal or unscrupulous financial means. It's pretty obvious that the country's legislators are all in the pocket of corporations. You'll never get justice for it—half the police force is in the pocket of the mafia. That company isn't really in the pocket of the Big Pharma, is it?
