In a position of highest importance or priority within the context of some specific area or realm. The new company I work for is in the forefront of medical innovation. I think some of their new instruments are going to revolutionize the field of medicine. My kids' safety is always a concern in the forefront of my mind. Scamming people always seems to be in the forefront of his mind—that's why I don't trust him.
