1. Similar to that which is being discussed. In an attempt to retain employees, the company plans to offer more vacation time. In a similar vein, they have announced that they will be implementing paid parental leave, effective immediately. I'm not good at math and, in a similar vein, I struggle with scientific equations. A: "We could really use a better bass player. Chris just isn't cutting it anymore." B: "Well, in a similar vein, I've been thinking that Sue's voice isn't strong enough for some of the songs we play. Maybe we need to seriously reconsider who is in the band."
2. In a particular way related to that which is being discussed. I know you're sick of all these superhero sequels, but because they make tons of money, expect box office trends to continue in a similar vein for a long time to come. I want something really unique and fun to play when I walk down the aisle. Can you think of anything in a similar vein that isn't totally tacky? When crime increases, house prices drop in a similar vein.
