1. adjective Having very little time (to do something or be somewhere); very busy or rushed. Sorry, I'm in a rush. Could we do this interview tomorrow? I wanted to ask my professor about the exam, but I could see she was in a rush. Yeah, I am in a rush, actually. If I don't leave now, I'll miss my train.
2. adverb Very quickly, especially more so than is normal. The car left the scene of the crime in a rush. He grabbed the package and then walked out of the office in a rush. A: "Why did she just take off in a rush?" B: "Because she's mad at me. Anyway, how can I help you?"
