be (not) comme il faut

To be appropriate or correct behavior, as in a social situation. Comme il faut is French for "as is proper." Usually used in the negative. It is not comme il faut to overshadow the bride at a wedding. Sonny, no one should have to tell you that it's not comme il faut to play your drums after 9 PM. In what world is it comme il faut to flirt with somebody else's boyfriend?
