A phrase used after one has spoken of their own skill or effort, so as to seem humble or acknowledge their bias. A: "Here's the report you wanted, sir. It's exceptionally comprehensive, if I do say so myself." B: "Oh really. Let me have a look, hmm?" Here, taste this sauce—it's my best yet, if I do say so myself. I finished cleaning my room, Mom. It's sparkling, if I do say so myself.
