honor (someone) with (something)

To celebrate someone by bestowing something upon or host something for them. Before she retired, my Mom's co-workers honored her with a party. The class honored their beloved teacher with a special award. Given your major breakthroughs in cancer research, the President wants to honor you with the Congressional Medal of Freedom.

to show one's respect for someone with something, such as a gift, party, ceremony, a response, etc. We would like to honor you with a little reception. We chose to honor you with a little gift.
