hold the room together

To create a sense of unity, consistency, or flow within a room. Said of furniture, décor, color choices, etc. I absolutely love this new rug. It really holds the living room together. The use of bamboo for all of the trim ends up holding the room together while also giving it a distinct and unique look. Because no element holds the room together, the overall look ends up being somewhat visually assaulting.
