hold good for (someone or something)

To be or remain true, valid, or applicable. The law must hold good for every person in society, not just those who earn the most money. No, no, those rules don't hold good for me, they're just for little middle schoolers like you. "Treat others as you would want to be treated" is an axiom that holds good for everyone, in my opinion.
