have the say

To have the ultimate authority to command, control, or make a decision. Your report looks good enough to me, but it's the manager who has the say on whether it's finished or not. As the editor-in-chief, I have the say on the layout design for every issue. The department heads all contribute to creating the strategy, but it's ultimately the CEO who has the say as to our course of action.
