To have one's appearance altered, as by making dramatic changes to one's makeup, hair, clothing, etc. "Makeover" is often hyphenated. This is the show where military veterans who are re-entering the workforce have makeovers. A: "Did you really convince Mom to have a make-over?" B: "Yeah, I think she would have a lot more self-confidence if she had a trendy new look." A: "Yikes, this bathroom desperately needs to have a makeover." B: "What gave it away, the pink tile?"
