To view someone or something unfavorably. If the recruiter has a low opinion of you, then I doubt that they'll offer you the job. For voters who already have a low opinion of that candidate, I doubt a strong debate performance will sway them. If the board has a low opinion of our proposal, we definitely won't get any funding this semester.
