have a good opinion of (someone or something)

To view someone or something favorably. If the recruiter has a good opinion of you, then I think they'll offer you the job. A: "Why doesn't your mom have a good opinion of me?" B: "Because she met you when she caught us smoking together!" My husband doesn't have a good opinion of that show, but I think it's great. I haven't missed an episode!
