To find amusement or humor in something, especially that which was initially unpleasant or distressing. I was really embarrassed about what happened on our first date, but we both had a good laugh about it later. Johnny's joke took us all by surprise at first, but we had been so somber at the funeral that it was nice to have a good laugh about something.
