have a buzz on

slang To be mildly intoxicated by drugs or alcohol. I wanted to have a buzz on for the concert, so I smoked a little pot in the parking lot. I honestly haven't had a buzz on since before I went to rehab. I'm not someone who drinks to get drunk—it's just nice to have a buzz on after a hard day's work.
