have a/the ring of truth

To sound like or appear to be true. What she's saying has a ring of truth to it, but I'm not totally convinced. Everything he says has the ring of truth, so it's hard to tell when he's lying. Her article paints a bleak picture of the future of our planet, and I worry that her concerns have a ring of truth.
