To outshine someone in a particular skill or area. Oh, my brother's got it over me in athletic ability—I can barely throw a baseball. A: "Face it, I've got it over you in chess." B: "Only because you cheat!" You're such a bright kid. If you would just study more, you'd have it over your classmates at school.
