To receive negative or unflattering coverage by the media. Ever since our shop had a bad press in the Sunday paper, we've hardly gotten any customers. Though he's had bad press lately, that senator seems very comfortable staying in the spotlight. No, he didn't have a bad press—the only bad press is no press! At least people know who he is now.
