hard drug

slang An illegal substance that is considered highly addictive and especially harmful or dangerous. Yeah, I smoke pot sometimes, but hard drugs are not for me, man. Of course I don't do heroin, that's a hard drug! He was hooked on hard drugs by the time he left high school.
