bushman's handkerchief

slang The use of one's hands, rather than an actual handkerchief or tissue, to blow one's nose. Primarily heard in Australia. A: "I didn't have a tissue on me, so I had to resort to the ol' bushman's handkerchief." B: "Ew! Make sure you wash your hands!" Make sure you have tissues on you because the boys won't hesitate to use a bushman's handkerchief if their noses start running. Please pass a few napkins so I don't have to avail myself of the bushman's handkerchief.
