hack job

A task completed very hastily but lacking in quality or thoroughness. Look, this repair was a hack job meant to get the car back on the road long enough for you to drive home. It was never meant to be a permanent fix. Our boss switched to a new manufacturing partner, but the hack job they were doing ended up ruining our reputation for well-built machinery. I know it's a hack job, but it's the best I could do at the time when I only had super glue at my disposal!
