grease up

To apply grease to something, often as a means of lubrication. A noun or pronoun can be used between "grease" and "up." If that door creaks every time you open it, you should really grease up the hinges. Yikes, your brakes are making a terrible sound! When was the last time you greased them up? Mom, if you don't grease up this lock, it won't be long before none of us can unlock the front door!
