An expression of dismissal or contempt, used as a euphemistic substitution for the phrase "go to hell." (Likely a reference to Halifax, West Yorkshire, England.) How can you say such an awful thing to me? Go to Halifax! Go to Halifax, all right? I don't need this aggravation. A: "Yikes, what did you do to your hair?" B: "Oh, go to Halifax!"
