To go for a drive in a car for the sole purpose of pleasure or excitement, especially when the car has been stolen or borrowed without permission. The three teenagers had stolen one of their parents' trucks and gone joyriding through the twisting back roads of the countryside. I love to go joyriding on a sunny day. Listening to my favorite music and feeling the wind in my hair always seems to boost my spirits. You were planning to bring the car back before we woke up? Doesn't matter—what matters is that you went joyriding in the middle of the night without our permission!
