To have one's usual, often tiresome, reaction to something. Please don't bring up tax reform unless you want Uncle Fred to go into a song and dance about it. Look, don't go into a song and dance about what happened—just get to the point. I wish the boss wouldn't go into a song and dance at the start of every meeting.
