go in(to something) with an open mind
To have a willingness to give some upcoming situation or activity a fair and thorough consideration before making a judgment or decision. I know you have certain expectations about this deal, but try to go into the negotiations with an open mind, OK? We may need to have some flexibility. I was nervous bringing my new boyfriend home to meet my parents, but they assured me that they were going in with open minds. I'll tell you straight away that I don't think a budget increase will be possible. That said, I will still go into the meeting with an open mind.
