go down with (something)

To become sick with a particular illness. Oh boy, both kids have gone down with the stomach flu? We're doomed. Half of my kindergarten class is down with chicken pox right now. I know my voice sounds terrible, but at least I haven't gone down with anything contagious—it's just allergies.
