To have known someone for a very long time. Oh, Caitlin and I go back a long way—we've been friends since kindergarten, in fact! Those two go back a long way—50 years at least! They've been friends since elementary school. Nancy—the recruiter—and I go back a long way, but I know that won't help me to secure this job.
