To discipline one, typically a child, by hitting them. Primarily heard in UK. Mom will give me a thick ear if she finds out that I broke her antique vase. Son, I asked you a question. Sass me like that again and I'll give you a thick ear! The next time you borrow my car without my permission, I'll give you a thick ear!
