get the time

To become free to do something; to have a period of time in which to do something. I'm sorry for not mowing the lawn, I just never got the time. When you get the time, please look over these reports and make sure they are correct. Somehow, I never seem to get the time to clean—probably because I'd always rather be doing something else!
