1. To engage in sexual activity. I'm a little bit tired of going to parties with Janet—she just spends the entire night trying to get some action. How'd the date go last night? Did you get some action? He's not a relationship-type of guy. He's clearly just looking to get some action.
2. To become involved in a violent altercation, especially in warfare. More than wanting to defend his country, Jake joined the army so that he could get some action. It's not like I was eager to get some action—I just wanted to serve in the military like my relatives did. Man, I was in Iraq, so I get it. It's hard to resume "normal" life after you've gotten some action.
