1. To stand up. Primarily heard in US. After turning off the alarm, I got on up and made my way over the dresser to fetch a shirt and trousers. Come on, get on up—I didn't hit you that hard! Would you get on up? I'm not paying you to sit around all day!
2. To climb or ascend something. Primarily heard in US. We'd better get on up that peak before morning breaks and it gets too hot. Let me get on up the ladder and see how the roof is holding up. Sorry, it takes a little longer for me to get on up the stairs in this walking boot.
