To get a sense of enjoyment, amusement, or excitement from something. Even as an adult, I still get a kick from building sandcastles at the beach. She really gets a kick from doing wheelies on her motorcycle in front of an audience. I'm not surprised Caroline loves doing karaoke—she's always gotten a kick from singing in front of people.
