Extending from the financial industry (represented by Wall Street, the financial district of New York City) to the businesses operated by rest of the country (represented by Main Street, commonly the most prominent street in a small town for businesses, shops, restaurants, etc.). Primarily heard in US. The devastation of this economic crisis will be felt from Wall Street to Main Street for the next five years at least. From Wall Street to Main Street, Americans are spending less and risking less, which has led to stagnation in the markets. The last thing we want is an economic downturn that can be felt from Wall Street to Main Street.
