friz
slang A shortening of "Frisbee," a trademark term for a plastic disc for two or more players to throw to each other and catch. Hey, toss me the friz! Is this orange friz yours? Guys, let's move away from this crowd. We don't want to hit anyone in the head as we toss the ol' friz around.
frizz up
1. To form into wispy curls, usually of hair. If I don't put that product in my hair, it'll frizz up immediately in this weather. If you're going out in the rain, cover your head so your hair doesn't frizz up. Ugh, with all of the expensive products I've got in my hair, it shouldn't frizz up like this!
2. To cause something to form into wispy curls, usually hair. In this usage, a noun or pronoun can be used between "frizz" and "up." If I don't put that product in my hair, this weather will frizz it up immediately. My hair never looks great in the summer—the humidity frizzes it right up. I'm sorry I look like a mess—the rain really frizzed up my hair.
