frit away

To waste or squander something, especially over time or in small increments; to fritter something away. A noun or pronoun can be used between "frit" and "away." If you keep fritting away your savings on sales at the mall, you'll be broke again in no time. We've spent years building up trust and goodwill with our customers, and I'm not about to let it all be fritted away by your idiotic decisions! The government continues to frit away resources on these idiotic schemes instead of investing the money and manpower where they're actually needed.
